Creating equity, opportunity, community, and viability for the Hill District

Sankofa Square will be a 45,000 sqft, 3-story steel structure with glazing, masonry and tile accents on the exterior. Located in the 2100 block of Centre Avenue in the Upper Hill District, this newly constructed mixed-use building will be home for the Developer’s offices and essential local businesses. The ground floor will be fully occupied by an ethnically – oriented food and entertainment source (Smoketown Culinary Hall) celebrating the history and food heritage of Pittsburgh and the Hill Community. An enclosed rooftop greenhouse and garden will provide vegetables, herbs and spices to supplement the food hall – with an adjacent outdoor patio venue large enough to host small events. Views of the surrounding neighborhood and city skyline will be impressive.
